Amy Street appears on "Unreliable Evidence"

Amy Street was a guest on Clive Anderson's legal discussion programme "Unreliable Evidence" on Radio 4, to discuss "Law and Protest". It was broadcast at 8pm on 20th May 2009, was repeated on Saturday 23rd May 2009 at 1015pm, and you can listen again on the Radio 4 website here

 
Amy represents and advises police forces. She has particular expertise in public order and human rights, including deprivation of liberty under Article 5 ECHR. She represented the Metropolitan Police in the two leading public order cases, Austin (concerning the containment of a large crowd at Oxford Circus on May Day 2001) and Laporte (about police action to prevent a breach of the peace at RAF Fairford including the return of coaches of protestors to London).

Amy also specialises in medical law including mental capacity and mental health. Her expertise in Article 5 extends into this field. Her current work includes instructions in relation to the deprivation of liberty safeguards under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
