Naraji v Shelbourne & Jari: footballer loses claim

Christopher Johnston QC led by Stephen Miller QC acted for the Second Defendant in claim by former Sheffield United footballer.  The Claimant alleged that his footballing career had been destroyed by the negligence of a US surgeon (D1) in misplacing a femoral tunnel when undertaking an anterior cruciate ligament repair and by a UK surgeon (D2) in not identifying this error.  Popplewell J dismissed the claim against D2 in its entirety (and against D1 on grounds of causation).
