Stephen Morley represents the Metropolitan Police in a Gross Misconduct Hearing Concerning a Serious Sexual Assault

30/11/2011

After criminal proceedings for rape were discontinued at the Old Bailey Stephen presented the case against Trainee Detective Shahzad Malik at a gross misconduct disciplinary hearing.  At the conclusion of the hearing the officer was dismissed from the police service. Commander Peter Spindler, Directorate of Professional Standards, said:
"The Metropolitan Police Service takes all allegations of misconduct, whether on or off duty, seriously. This officer was the subject of some very serious allegations, and the misconduct hearing having reviewed the evidence found that the case against him was proven. He abused his status as a constable for his own gratification in a most appalling way. We will not tolerate this type of behaviour, and he has therefore been dismissed from the service for gross misconduct."
