Debra Powell has been instructed on behalf of the Care Quality Commission in relation to the full public inquiry into the failings of the Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust announced by the Secretary of State for Health on 9th June 2010.
The full public inquiry follows the previous independent inquiry into the care provided by the Trust between January 2005 and March 2009 chaired by Robert Francis QC which reported on 24th February 2010. The inquiry which will take place in Stafford will also be chaired by Francis QC and will invesitgate the operation of commissioning, supervisory and regulatory organisations in relation to their monitoring of the Trust during this period.
