Susanna has a developing interest in professional regulation and representing professionals before their disciplinary bodies. She has appeared in the GMC and prior to joining the bar she gained some experience in SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) related work.
Medical Discipline Representing healthcare professionals before regulatory bodies including the GMC, GDC and PCTs as well as medical school disciplinary hearings, and providing representation in the First Tier Tribunal (Primary Health Lists). Susanna was recently successful in a two-day restoration application in front of the GMC’s Fitness to Practise panel, on behalf of a student doctor who had worked for six months whilst knowingly unregistered. The panel concluded that the public interest would be served by restoring the doctor to the register. Susanna accepted this instruction through the Bar Pro Bono Unit.
