Employment

Through her work with the Treasury Solicitor and the police Sarah has significant experience of civil claims involving race and sex discrimination. She has a particular interest in employment cases involving all types of discrimination and unfair dismissal.

Sarah has wide experience of representing medical and other regulated professionals in disciplinary proceedings such as those brought by the General Medical Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Sarah also has experience of employment tribunal claims involving alleged discrimination by police forces against civilian employees.

Other work

Sarah also specialises in medical law and police law.

Sarah provides lectures and seminars to clients in her specialist areas. Topics covered recently include:

- Data Protection Act, Police and Criminal Evidence Act and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act

- the law relating to Football Banning Orders

- applications in the magistrates’ courts

- special damages and schedules of loss (November 2007)

- the effect of Rees on wrongful birth claims

- damages for loss of congenial employment.
