For instance, HM Coroner for Kings Cross after shooting (dead!) of psychiatric patient by SO19 officers following earlier kidnapping and resulting hostage situation (patient had begun to hit hostage around head with corkscrew when officers responded).

Michael lectures extensively.  He has twice chaired AvMA's Cardiology Claims conference.  He regularly speaks on Medical Treatment Decisions and the Law.  He has spoken on a wide range of subjects including Corporate Manslaughter, Confidentiality, Fatal Accident Claims, Withdrawal of Treatment from patients suffering locked in syndrome, Special Damages, Causation (Gregg v Scott) and Limitation.  He has been a guest speaker at the International Bar Association's conferences in both Buenos Aires and Strasbourg.
