Nature of Practice

 
Disciplinary  Considerable experience before disciplinary tribunals including the General Medical Council – and in advising on judicial review relating to such tribunals. Prosecutes and defends before the Family Health Service Appeal Tribunal. Counsel to the authority in Kataria v Essex Strategic Health Authority [2005]. Prosecuting counsel in Karwal v Medway PCT [2005]. Defence counsel in Doshi v Southend-on-Sea PCT [2007] and Rauniar v Waltham Forest PCT [2007].

Chan v Barts & the London NHS Trust [2007] EWHC 2914 (QB) Ground-breaking case which established that NHS Trusts may rely on nationally negotiated disciplinary procedures to change doctors' contracts of employment.
