Professional discipline

3 Serjeants’ Inn is a leading professional discipline and regulatory set of chambers. It has been prosecuting and defending professionals before their regulatory bodies for over 25 years. This is reflected in the fact 3 Serjeants’ Inn is the only set to have been nominated in all three categories at the Chambers and Partners Bar Awards for Professional Disciple every year since their inauguration winning Professional Discipline Chambers of the year (2007 and 2009); Silk of the year in Nicola Davies QC (2007) and Robert Francis (2009); and Junior of the year in Mary O’Rourke QC (2008). 3 Serjeants’ Inn has consistently been a top-rated professional discipline set. The 2009 edition of Chambers & Partners 2009, speaks of the “impressive mixture of high-profile medical and police disciplinary work” and the “excellent service received from these barristers”

Although pre-eminent in medical and police disciplinary work, 3 Serjeants’ Inn now covers the full spectrum of professional disciplinary and regulatory work. Recent and ongoing cases include acting for solicitors (in one of the longest running SDT cases in recent memory), barristers, sportsmen and women (including involvement in the Harlequins “Bloodgate” case) and academics.

First rate forensic and advocacy skills, expert knowledge of the law and procedure of the relevant regulatory body and the ability to handle highly sensitive matters are the skills germane to all disciplinary work. 3 Serjeants’ Inn has genuine strength in depth from the most experienced silks to very junior barristers. Click here to download our professional discipline brochure.
