Martin has recently been appointed to the newly-created role of Chambers Business Manager. As such, his area of responsibility is for all non-clerking operations within chambers and for leading the administration team. He has been involved in chambers management and administration for twelve years, the last nine of which were spent at Coram Chambers, a set of some sixty practitioners, where he fulfilled a similar role and where, in particular, he was heavily involved in the introduction and implementation of a comprehensive quality assurance regime for BarMark purposes and in chambers’ purchase and refurbishment of new premises for its occupation. Previously, he was a solicitor in private practice for some twenty-five years. During that time, he had his own practice and was head of the litigation department of a ten-partner provincial firm, dividing his time equally between fee-earning, management and marketing.
Martin is a member of the executive committee and treasurer of the Legal Practice Management Association.
